Introduction to basic implant prosthetics

Designed for clinicians and dental technicians who want to provide patients and customers with state-of-the-art implant based restorative dentistry. This program provides an excellent foundation for practice growth, with a focus on step-by-step procedures to plan and restore single missing teeth in healed sites. Implant related biology, surgery fundamentals, patient selection and communication, treatment planning and prosthetic options are among the areas addressed during the program. In order to enhance the learning experience, it is recommended that both clinician and dental technician attend the program together. The program fee includes tuition for the clinician and one supporting dental technician.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this program, the dental professional should understand the following:
• Basic biology behind implant treatment
• Patient selection and patient communication
• A systematic approach to treatment planning
• Basic surgical aspects of implants
• Treatment options including NobelProceraTM solutions for definitive restorations on natural teeth
• Restorative procedures and usage of core prosthetic components
• When to restore, when to refer and responsibilities when referring patients
• Impression taking on implant level and abutment level, open tray and closed tray respectively
• Surgical and radiographic template design and fabrication
• Introductory level digital treatment planning with a specific approach to treatment planning from the restorative perspective
• Mentorship options to support the clinician through their first patient treatments coupled with a surgical clinician completing the surgery

Hands-on: • Fixture level open tray impression taking
• Prosthetic workshop using NobelReplaceTM Tapered componentry
